Here at House of Gratitude our mission is to provide a supportive, thriving, and purposeful drug treatment program. We are here to assist those who are experiencing any substance abuse problems, homelessness, and recidivism.

Our drug and alcohol-free homes are a great place to live and grow. We educate mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally. At the House of Gratitude, we strive to transform and rebuild self-worth with tools that are needed to build a strong long-term recovery and successful re-entry to society.

Here at House of Gratitude we believe that people of all nationalities can achieve clean time and recover from substance abuse. We believe and have proof that men and women do recover and can become successful members of society as demonstrated by our support members. Recovery is possible with guidance and support.

Our program vision is to see men and women grow in love, wisdom, and dignity. Our program will provide meditation and self-awareness classes. We have a solid foundation of recovery to depend on to help support these men and women.

House of Gratitude is a foundation in which we hope to bridge the gap in housing and treatment for people coming out of prison and recovering addicts that are unable to afford housing right away.  We are looking to help narrow homelessness and constant rotation to incarceration. Our goal is to teach and build life skills that will aid in our mission.

My name is Sherina James. I represent the type of people I want to help. I am a recovering addict as well as a repeat offender of the judicial system.  I have had many troubles trying to find housing or programs that were willing to help me for many different reasons in the past. One of the main reasons was I didn’t have a place to stay so no one wanted to hire me for work because I was unemployable. Now I’m 7 years clean and have held many positions in rehab centers. I am a certified Peer Support Specialist looking to help and aid in the rebuild of our community.

We need more open doors for recovering addicts and individuals trying to become productive members of society. We intend on going to jails and 28-day treatment centers becoming a reliable resource for next step recovery. We want to open placements all over the state of Louisiana starting with Baton Rouge serving at least 3 thousand residents in the first year helping with employment readiness training and job placement. We are here to aid the community and ready for the breakthrough.
